Damian Mc Carthy Appreciation Post I saw Hokum yesterday and had to immediately came home and watch another Damian film. I saw people praising Oddity. Loved both, but even a step beyond that, watching these so close to each other you pick up on a lot of Easter eggs. The rabbit is an obvious one, but the desk bell, lantern, bellboy, and morality undertones. His mastery of the jump scare leaves you white knuckling every scene, anticipating the next one. submitted by /u/McFlyBomb to r/Letterboxd [link] [comments]
Hokum or Mortal Kombat II? One is an original work and the other is a sequel to a rebooted 2021 video game adaptation. Both come out this Wednesday. Tomorrow is actually my first Wednesday off from work (they made some schedule changes) and I thought I'd celebrate by going to the cinema hehe. As much as I'd love to see both, my budget can only let me see one. I'll probably see the other one when it comes out on digital. Hokum: I tend to stay away from watching horror in the cinema, but I've been more open since last ye
'Hokum' - Pullman mentioned! During the hotel check-in scene, the receptionist calls out that Adam Scott's character was visiting from Pullman, WA. No direct WSU connection like Dakota Johnson's graduation in 50 shades, but close enough... GO COUGS! Couldn't find anything in the director's biography that pointed to WSU; which one of you slipped this in? At this rate, we'll catch up to Harvard film references in ~10000 years. submitted by /u/HYPR21 to r/wsu [link] [comments]

Advice please!! Solo young female moviegoer looking for how to deal with disruptive people SAFELY :) Hi everyone!! I’m looking for some advice here because I (21F) have found myself in this situation quite often in the past year or so. My AMC theatre is more sparsely attended and I’m often nearly alone in showings especially as I tend to go during the day or afternoon since I work at night. It is not uncommon for an audience to be me and a group of men/boys. Today I saw Hokum (which I think I enjoyed? I’ll have to go again) and was sat in the back corner by myself. The movie started and it w

Advice please!! Solo young female moviegoer looking for advice on how to deal with disruptive people SAFELY :) Hi everyone!! I’m looking for some advice here because I (21F) have found myself in this situation quite often in the past year or so. TL;DR I, a young woman, often (about 1/10 times I go to movies) find myself alone in theatres with groups of men who are extremely disruptive and can even get aggressive with me when shushed or politely asked to stop. Asking staff to assist has often not helped or only helped temporarily. Is there anything I can do to safely stop or prevent this from happening w
